This page is a collection place for quotes. The quotes come from all different sources (books, messages, bumper stickers, other web sites, etc.), where I have those sources I will reference them. Some are serious, others not so much. I've been collecting these for over ten years (but not all on Blogspot). The very first entry is an accumulation of the first ten years.

From Stuff Christians Like
I want my motives to know God better to be pure. I want them to be noble and not self serving. I don't want to treat God like a really, really, really good self help guru. When I read the Bible, I want that desire to come from a thirst for the truth and an all consuming need to be close to God's Word and His heart. — Jonathan Christopher [JDV: bold my emphasis; for the entire blog post click here]

From the book "The irresistible Revolution"
Peter confronts [Ananias and Sapphira] in a way that seems quite rude (not very seeker sensitive), and then on top of it God strikes them dead (not very tolerant or inclusive). Perhaps we should be thankful that God isn't into that anymore, otherwise we'd have much smaller congregations. — Shane Claiborne

From a book I'm reading
Attack me…I do this myself…but attack me rather than the path I follow…. If I know the way home and am walking along it drunkenly, is it any less the right way because I am staggering from side to side! — Leo Tolstoy
